BMC :

Bio-diversity Management Committee

Years of working in the Project villages and cohesive collaboration with villagers have helped GJEM in further formalizing its work in accordance with the Biological Diversity Act 2002. To work along the Act, 31 Biodiversity Management Committees (BMCs) are formed and 46 People’s Biodiversity Registers (PBRs) are created. The BMCs are responsible for promoting conservation, sustainable use, and documentation of biological diversity including and chronicling of knowledge relating to biological diversity.
