Due to Covid-19 it was unable to go to schools in south gujarat to conduct workshops. Since the children and villagers were at home free, Priyanka thought of conducting environment awareness program in her village. She used the modules and did activities with the children as well as villagers. She gathered some villagers and taught them to make liquid pesticide with practical. She conducted activities mentioned below in the photos. Besides the activities she also gave awareness class. The children at home doing nothing since April were happy to join for the activity and learn something about environment. Even the villagers co-operated with her and learnt about environment

Organic Farmin Workshop – Kaneval and Pandad village, Khambhat

A one day workshop on Organic farming was organized for Khambhat parcish by Pochabhai foundation with the support from the Horticulture department, Anand

During the workshop he presented details and benefits of the organic farming.

There was a practical session on the following preparation related to organic farming. At the end the workshop two books on organic farming was distributed to all the participants.

Outcome :

⁙ 25 members from 5 villages promised to convert 2 bighas of land into organic by next year.

⁙ F15 members from Pandad village promised to convert 2 bighas of land into organic by next year.

⁙ About 100 famers will keep ready all the details required for online subsidy schemes before Mar-20 and will deposit the documents at Pochabhai Foundation, Golana office.

⁙ 25 farmers will make liquid organic manure with immediate effect.

⁙ The farmers who have grown ‘Gram’ will spray bio-pesticides during this month.

"Shrishti Organics"

Today we organised blessing ceremony for Shrishti Organics farm . Rev. Fr. Lancy performed eco spiritual ritual and blessed the farm. He thanked all five life supporting elements of cosmos and requested their continuous support to this farm. The farm is open for the learners who wish to learn about organic farming, biodynamic farming and animal husbandry.

Shrishti Organics have developed a model farm as a part of eco-awareness and organic farming awareness at Waghodiya taluka, Vadodara district. The farm has following ongoing activities for the farmers and interested students and lay people. The farm is under development stage.

Various types of composts are prepared with a motive to exhibit different methods of composting to visitors.

This farm also models fodder management practices for cattle, it would help farmers being self reliant, who domesticate cattle and re depended on them for farming purposes.

Solar pump is another exhibition where in farmers would not hack to be depended on grid or diesel for irrigating purposes.

So far in Shrishti Organics farm we are growing 28 types of vegetable. Vegetable Mandap is installed for climbers.

Cattle Shed for with capacity to accommodate four cattle is established, cattle is one of the major component of dynamic farming.

Honey bee racks have been installed so they can pollinate flowers in our vegetable garden and at the same time produce honey.

Horticulture trees have been used as border plantation. They will provide fencing in long run form wild bores as well as seasonal yield of fruits.

Major corp we have cultivated in our farm are wheat and gram.

Kathan from Khoj orgnaisation invited us to talk and present about the organic farming and kitchen garden to selected students and parents of Ahmedabad.

Mr Francis Macwan presented about the concept of kitchen garden and organic farming through slide show presentation and a field exercise later on.

The parents were also excited about the workshop and initiatives of GJEM and were interested to initiate their own kitchen garden.

Participants : Selected member from Modasa, Mandal, Zankhvav, Dadhwada, Pimpri, Nani Singloti, Dediapada, Unai, SXC Ahmedabad, Rajpipla, Bharuch

Four day interactive workshop was conducted to discuss Bio-dynamic farming and its various components such as , Composting, Vegetable Cultivation, Fodder and Animal husbandry. Farm models Dharu models were demonstrated and general practices in bio-dynamic farm was discussed. Participants also indulged in farm for first hand experience of bio-dynamic farming.

Fr. Lancy attended the morning session on 2nd day and briefed the participants about importance of organic farming and encouraged the participants.

Fr. Rakesh invited Francis Macwan to conduct a one day workshop for kitchen garden members. The project is funded by Alboan. The main objective of the program was to raise the awareness about the organic vegetables.

A presentation was made through slide shows and GJEM movies. All the members have appreciated the efforts of GJEM for ecology. The participants came from 6 villages surrounding Nani Singloti village.

The discussion was mainly on the benefits of organic farming, vegetables and its benefits. Mr. Sahdevbhai also presented about Adiaushadhi group activities.
